ATPAC Purpose and Scope of Activities

Our purpose in forming ATPAC is to support and promote those candidates for political office who will best advance the core values of the Asheville Tea Party; those being specifically: the promotion and preservation of individual rights, Constitutionally limited government and free markets.

We will achieve our goals through the following activities:

First Order Of Business - NC 11th US House Seat

How will we choose our candidate?

Each of the candidates for the U.S. House seat currently held by Rep. Heath Shuler has been given a questionnaire to complete. The completed questionnaire will be available at our website once returned.  The questionnaires will be considered by the Executive and Candidate Committees and scored by process of deliberation and two rounds of ranking each candidate on a scale (or range voting).

Additionally, Asheville Tea Party will host a candidate debate to which all candidates will be invited. At the end of the debate, the audience will select their choice of Congressional candidate by range vote.  The results of this vote will be considered in the final ATPAC selection.

By a vote of the Executive and Candidates Committees, ATPAC will choose the candidate who we believe best represents our core values and is most able to promote and protect individual liberty and Constitutionally limited government in elected office.

We are very excited that the Asheville Tea Party is taking our activism to the next level and we appreciate your support. We welcome and look forward to your participation in the coming months and years as we roll back the destruction of American liberty.
